Attending the AIS Salzburg was, honestly, a truly transformative experience. Having spent two years at this institution, I was given the opportunity to meet so many different cultures, enlarge my knowledge on all the fields (science, history, literature...also relationship with friends) and continue my international education by being able to apply to international universities.
The tuition fees of an all-time boarder provided me not only three meals a day and accommodation, but, more importantly, education on a very high level. Teacher staff really prepared us for all AP exams, and helped us with our college application process. They are always willing to help, even they have tons of paper to grade.
Beyond academics, the school also offered a vibrant social environment, whether it was within the dorms, doing sports, or traveling. Various social activities allowed me to build meaningful connections with fellow students, with whom I am still in good contact today.
While the school had structured house rules in place, they were important in helping students develop discipline, establish productive routines, and manage their time effectivelyâskills that continue to benefit me in university. Dorms staff provided me help literally every time I needed it. Also every time I felt sick, they would take care of me, so you don't have to worry about that đ
Looking back, my time at AIS Salzburg was a well-rounded experience. The education I received, the friendships I built, and the skills I developed have undoubtedly prepared me for the challenges of higher education and beyond. I am grateful for the opportunities this school provided and would highly recommend it to students seeking a rigorous academic program in an international setting.

I spent three years at this school and have many nice things to say about my time there. The teachers are amazing, the activities are well-organized, and the small size meant I got a lot of encouragement and individual attention, which really helped me reach my full academic potential and develop a strong work ethic. That said, STEM options are quite limitedâyou couldnât take both chemistry and biology, and physics requires self-studyâso itâs better suited for students interested in humanities, psychology, literature, etc. The school is in a beautiful, picturesque area, and student safety is a top priority, making it a really comfortable and secure place to learn.

I spent three years as a full-time boarder, and it was an amazing experience. This small international school brings together students from all over the world.
The best part is the staff. Teachers arrive early and/or stay late to help, always offering advice and support. When I arrived, my English was poor, but in just two months, I made huge progress. I also learned German and picked up words from my classmatesâ languages.
Boarding life is just as enriching. The residence staff organizes great activities and trips throughout the week and month. The structured routine helps you build good study habits while balancing social life and independence.
Overall, this school provides an incredible opportunity for personal and academic growth. The school and boarding staff foster independence while offering constant support. Youâll gain valuable skills, build international connections, and develop in many ways.

Spending five incredible years at AIS-Salzburg shaped me into the person I am today.
Meeting students from all over the world has not only broadened my perspective but also allowed me to build lifelong friendships that I cherish to this day. Beyond the friendships, the school has provided me with a strong academic foundation and instilled discipline.
The unwavering support of the teachers have left a lasting impact on me. I cannot thank them enough for the care and attention.
I highly recommend AIS-Salzburg to anyone who is serious about preparing for college and searching for personal growth.

Going forward, this school can improve most quickly by committing itself to providing up-to-date books. AP textbooks should be the current edition, all books should be actual books instead of an electronic format, and books that are sufficiently old or worn out should be replaced. Spending less than 1% of the school budget on books will go a long way to solving this problem, which has gotten bad over a long period of time. It is odd to ask a European boarding school in the 21st century to update its book resources, but this reform needs to happen.

I canât say enough good things about this school! I attended from 7th to 12th grade, graduating in 2020, and those six years truly shaped me into the person I am today. I came here after losing my dad, and this school became my second home. The teachers, the students, and the entire community are simply incredible.
Mister Lichty is hands down the best math teacher I have ever had. After a terrible experience with an Austrian math teacher, he rebuilt my confidence and made me believe in my abilities. His patience, kindness, and dedication to his students are unmatched. Mister McLean, the best headmaster ever, taught Humanities in a way that left a lasting impact on every student lucky enough to be in his class. Heâs the reason I pursued a career in the arts, and I know Iâm not alone in that!
Ms. Kasberger is an incredible listener, and if you ever need help whether itâs academic or personal she will do everything she can to support you. Her kindness and dedication go beyond the classroom. Ms. Cerone is one of the sweetest, most caring people Iâve ever met. On tough days, she always found a way to make me smile. And Ms. Longâher class was tough, but because of her, Iâm miles ahead in writing essays at university compared to my peers.
But itâs not just these teachersâevery single teacher at this school does their absolute best to create a safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environment. This school challenges you, but in the best way, because the teachers truly care.
Even now, I still visit regularly, and my former teachers check in on me. Many of my classmates still meet up with them when they visit from other countries. That kind of connection is rare, and it speaks volumes about the love and dedication within this school.
This school means everything to me. It gave me lifelong friends, invaluable lessons, and a second family. If youâre willing to put in the effort, this school will give you back so much more. Iâll always be grateful for my time here!

Even a decade after graduating, I still consider this school my second home. More than just a school, itâs a family that played a pivotal role in shaping the person I am today. I remain deeply grateful to the teachers who guided meânot just academically, but personally as well. If I could, Iâd go back in a heartbeatâat least for a day!

This place was the worst school I've gone to, and I've moved around a lot.
If you're considering going here, maybe look towards Munich or Vienna or even the UK because for the price it really isn't worth it, especially boarding.
Although there were a few good teachers, there was much to be asked for educationally. Because AIS has stopped offering the Ib programme, you'll have a hard time trying to get into any programmes in Europe.
The literature department was bad. Every good grade I got was due to the fact that I had good teachers in my previous school.
Find an international school that offers Ib if possible in case you want to study in Europe.
